The Blackstar Debut 50R is a 1 x 12-inch combo amp with a digital-free design, emphasizing simplicity and immediate playability. It features a 12-inch custom-designed speaker and an all-analog circuitry, providing shimmering clean tones and rich overdriven sounds reminiscent of tube amplifiers. The MOSFET-enabled overdrive channel offers saturated dirty tones with dynamic responsiveness.

The amp includes practical features such as a line-in for jamming along to tracks, a speaker-emulated line-out for silent recording/practice, and power scaling down to five watts for reduced volume levels without sacrificing tone quality. The Infinite Shape Feature (ISF) allows players to dial in a wide range of drive tones, from tight and aggressive to warmer and more British-sounding.
