This is a VINTAGE 1962-63 GIBSON DISCOVERER TREMOLO AMP. MODEL GA 8T, 12 INCH COMBO AMPLIFIER.

It is complete: less the'GIBSON' logo (replacements are available for less than 40 bucks). Date was determined by the codes on the transformers, pot codes and catalog images. Tube line up: 6CA4 rectifier, 2-6BQ5(EL84) power, 2-6EU7 pre-amp. All the tubes are branded RCA or GE that test strong on my Hickok 6000a tube tester.

Speaker is a CTS from 1967. This amp is nicer than most old Gibsons I see for sale. TREMOLO WORKS with original hardwired footswitch. Clean controls, no scratchy pots.

For the most part well preserved. Please look at the pictures for condition.

Less than normal aging and patina. You can take this out to play a gig the day you get it. As a basic test I have operated this amp for at least 4 hours recently and it did not fail, smoke, throw sparks, blow fuses, start on fire, etc.

Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet, handles, knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls.

Old electronics can fail at any time. This is part of my estate.
