Up for sale is a rare and excellent tube amp by Magnatone.. This amp was originally designed to be a bass amp.

But like the legendary Fender Bassman, this amplifier sounds TERRIFIC with 6 string electric guitar! This is what I use this amp for, and it's amazing in its own little (or more like big) unique way! I haven't been much of a musician or guitarist since Covid brought public gigging to a halt. But this amp almost singlehandedly rekindled my passion for music (and the guitar) again. Plug your 6 string into the 1st (left most) input, turn the bass control up and I feel that this box performs magnificently as a jazz amp. No frills, no real breakup, just pure, clean and robust tube sound! This amp, though a bass amp, is actually equipped with 2 12 inch speakers, like many 6 string guitar amps, such as the Fender Twin Reverb, which this amp sounds very reminiscent of.

The original speakers have been replaced with 2 Italian made Jensen 12 speakers. I believe they sound GREAT!

Add to your palette a top end sparkle that is simultaneously smooth, which only amps with valves can give you, and you've got one complete sonic solution in your repertoire! All haughty descriptive words aside, this thing can get LOUD quick! It can definitely handle all but the largest venues with ease. Another cool feature of this amp is that there are 2 input sections to this amp, one labeled "bass" and the other normal. As alluded to before, I actually prefer plugging my string into the BASS input! There are plenty of tonal capabilities and options with this superb unit! It's also got an extension speaker output, a "normal" and "record" setting.

The record setting seems to be quieter, which makes sense. Also has a (very useful) standby setting as well as as 2 operating settings labeled "hum 1" and hum 2. Also has a dimmer control.... Nevertheless, this vintage and awesome sounding Magnatone bass amp is a true collection piece! It is all tube with old school construction that truly is built like a tank, and it's ready with all sorts of tonal power!
