Logo has a little piece of the L missing but its original! Grill cloth has mild nicks and marks but is overall in quite presentable condition. Tolex has some wear and tear as expected for being used over the years but is still in good original condition.
They should proably be chased and cleaned before trying to thread a caster in. The magic is in the speakers!!All 4 speakers are an original set with date code EE and EG which dates to May and July of 1972. A keen eye may notice the letters in the date code on two of them are transposed. This is seen from time to time but they are certainly from 1972 regardless. These are all original Pulsonic cones, which makes them extremely collectible and the sound is simply impossible to get with modern greenbacks. The speakers in this cab sound great with no cone cry, coil rub, buzzing or weird noises.
Super warm, punchy and crunchy. The solders on all four look original. Appearing to never have been removed from the cabinet. The wiring harness and all the speaker solders are original. I have included photos of every cone code and cone face.No repairs, holes, tears or anthing. One speaker does have quite a bit of dust and is a little on the dirty side. You may want to know.
From Bygone tones: "The pulsonic cones first appear around mid 1962, most notably on the T530 "vox blue. They are easily the most sought after cones by guitarists because they have a superior quality to their tone that cannot be found in any other speaker cone. Their slightly softer and more'fluid' sound is particularly popular with blues and classic rock guitarists.
Pulsonic cones are highly collectable due to their association with the legendary guitar players of the period such as Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles, and their use in the old 60's Marshall and Vox amplifiers. Legend has it that a fire at the Pulsonic factory in late 73 destroyed the magic formula for making those sweet sounding cones. Nobody has successfully managed to replicate them, though several boutique brands have tried, as well as Celestion themselves with their Heritage greenback range. This is the real deal, one of the last of the best years of Marshall cabinets.
