1973 Marshall Bass Lead 1960 4x12 Speaker Cab White Large Check, Celestion G12M

  

Up for sale, a 1973 Marshall Bass Lead 1960 4x12 speaker cabinet, loaded with the original quartet of Celestion G12M 25-watt Greenbacks. A stunningly rare cabinet with original white tolex and large check grillcloth, this straight front 4x12 sounds positively massive.

The original gold piping is intact, with light, consistent wear across the white tolex, and a combination of original and reissue plastic corners. The handles are original, as is the "Bass Lead 1960" metal badge below the single 1/4 input. The grillcloth features a new raised Marshall logo of appropriate era-correct size, and the large check grillcloth has only one notable tear in the lower left corner. Inside the cab, the original Celestion Greenbacks are exceedingly clean and feature original Pulsonic cones. The frames show sparingly little wear, the magnet covers are clean as can be, and the speakers have "EF21" date stamps from 1973.
