An beautiful 1967 Silverface Bassman and Cabinet for sale. Just back from a full service and is sounding stellar. The amp runs very quiet, perfect for studio use, and has been fitted with a new matched pair of 2x Sovtek 6L6's, 1x Tung Sol 12AT7W and 3 x EH 7025. I also have a box of original, unused Russian valves from the 60's which I can include.

Please see photos of exact details of service. All original components and parts have been kept and come with the amp. I chose to have the circuit changed to the older AA165.

The amp is much more dynamic and responsive as a result. Consensus among guitarists is that this circuit is superior and as such is a very popular mod on these bassmans.

It has also had a lo/hi switch fitted to give the option of running at 19.5 volts which makes it brilliant for studio environments if you want to push it to breakup without making your ears bleed. This switch is fitted in the original ground switch so no drilling has been done. These mods are all reversible. The power lead has been changed to a male 3 pin (kettle lead) for easy connection. The Fender cabinet houses its original Oxford Ceramic speakers and dates from the 1964-66 era - so not the original cabinet to the head but a fantastic mid 60s Fender cab which will have most likely been paired with another Bassman or Bandmaster.

The cab looks to have been blonde at one point but was redone sometime in the 60s. Its difficult to say but worth mentioning. The speakers are powerful and punchy and sound wonderful. This is a very special amp and these 60's Silverface heads don't come around very often. This amp belonged to the bassist in Chris Farlow and the Thunderbirds.

Allegedly McCartney has played through it a number of times but no letter to confirm this! Collection is obviously preferred, however I can post.
