1967 Fender Super Reverb Black Panel Vintage Tube Amp 4x10, CTS Alnico Speakers

  

Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Super Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The amp features its original quad of alnico 10 CTS speakers, pushing 40 watts of pure Fender Black Panel clean tone via a pair of Groove Tubes 6L6 power tubes. Perfect for gigging situations and an ideal recording amplifier, the amp provides pristine, muscly Fender cleans until you hit the 4-5 range on the volume dial, where a bit of tube and speaker breakup sends the amp into smooth overdrive.

The Reverb is lush and deep, and the Tremolo has a nice pulse, with everything from swampy and slow to choppy rat-a-tat pulses. All of the original transformers are intact, manufactured by Schumacher (Fender's primary transformer supplier in the Black Panel era) and all dating to early'67. The preamp features a host of modern capacitors from the likes of Mojotone and Sprague, and the majority of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from late'66. The power cable has been upgraded to a modern three-prong for safety's sake, and the power supply has been professionally recapped with Sprague Atoms. The chassis itself is clean, as is the original faceplate and stock witch hat knobs.

The original quartet of CTS alnico magnet speakers are intact, with clean frames and original blue foil Fender stickers on the magnets. The original speaker harness is present, and the tube chart is mostly intact inside the cabinet, with a QH date stamp that translates to August of 1967.

The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact and quite well kept, and all of the original hardware is present including the nickel corners, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, chrome pat.
