1951 Rickenbacker Electro M-12 Combo Amplifier. Super cool vintage guitar amp! The amp can get loud and keep up with a drummer! It has sweet break up on the first two channels at about halfway though the volume control. The amp has 3 input jacks, each with their own volume control and one master tone control.
The "Microphone" input has the highest volume, "Instrument 1" is slightly more tame than the mic input, and "Instrument 2" its very padded and much lower in volume than the other 2 jacks. It is about 15 watts of power and has 2 6V6 power tubes. The power tubes are a brand new Electro Harmonix matched pair. It also has a vintage RCA 5U4 rectifier tube and a pair of vintage Westinghouse 6SC7 preamp tubes. The amp originally had 6L6 power tubes but the 6V6's were added for more headroom. The amp can use 6L6's without any need for modification. The volume and tone potentiometers are original and date to mid 1951. The speaker is a vintage 12 Oxford. It dates to 1954 so it likely not original to the amp. The transformers are original Triad's. Some capacitors have been changed to get the amp working at it's best. The cabinet appears to have been modified over time. Ports have been added to the sides of the amp and chrome speaker covers placed over them.
The top has also been modified to have a gap between the baffle and top cover. The modifications do not really serve much of a purpose and don't change or inhibit the use of the amp. The amp is USA made in California. The power cable has been replaced with a new 3 prong cable. The amp is 100% functional and is ready to play! The amp is used and shows signs of it including nicks, dings, dents, scrapes, scratches, bumps, and bruises, but is in otherwise great shape. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions!
