1972 Ampeg SVT Bass Tube Amplifier Head w/ Matching 8x10 Speaker Cabinet #38206. MODEL: SVT Amplifier Head and Speaker Cabinet. FUNCTION: Bass Amplifier Head and Speaker Cabinet. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a 1972 Ampeg SVT Bass Tube Amplifier Head w/ Matching 8x10 Speaker Cabinet. Head Finish/Color: "Blue Line" - Black/Silver Grill Cloth w/ Blue Graphics, Black Chassis and Inside of Head. Tube Config (All Vintage Tubes except JJ, GT, and SED). Preamp: 3 x JJ ECC832/12DW7, 1 x Groove Tubes 12AX7-GT, 1 x GE 6C4.

Power Amp: 1 x International Servicemaster 12DW7/7247, 2 x Tung-Sol/Magnavox 12BH7, 6 x SED Svetlana -C- (Winged C) 6550C. Cabinet Finish/Color: Black/Silver Grill Cloth. ACCESSORIES INCLUDED: This item comes as seen in photos, and does not include any accessories. PHYSICAL CONDITION: Good - The head and cabinet are both structurally solid. Both units have some hard-to-remove dirt/dust throughout.

The head's control panel shows wear and surface marks as well. The head has a few spots with holes in the black vinyl covering, while the cabinet has more significant tears and spots where the vinyl is peeling.

The grill cloth on both shows some wear and a couple of tiny holes. Everything on both units appears original other than the speaker connection between the head and cab. A 1/4" output jack has replaced the head's speaker cable and the input on the cab was switched to 1/4" jack as well.

All speakers are in good shape other than the right-side speaker on the top row which has a loose dust cap. Overall, the set is in good physical condition. WORKING CONDITION: Very Good - Both units work and have the classic SVT sound. When dialed in, the head sounds incredible - clarity and brightness at lower volumes, huge-girthy-monstrous bass tones at moderate to higher volumes. Since the head's output is 300w and the 8 x 30w CTS speakers max out at 240w, the speakers distort when the head is set to higher volumes.

The speakers also show some flubbing and extremely occasional static on low notes at higher volumes. Some of this is may not be due to the cab being overpowered but the age/condition of the speakers, especially the loose dust cap on the one speaker. At moderate and lower levels, the cab sounds great and holds up to whatever the cab throws.

Together, the set is in very good working condition. TOTAL DIMENSIONS: 58" x 16" x 26.

Head Dimensions: 24" x 11.5" x 14. Cabinet Dimensions: 46.5" x 16" x 26. We strongly suggest that you check your order after receiving it to be sure that it is in proper working order. NOT WORKING FOR PARTS AS-IS.

Without having to curb your enthusiasm of basking in the glow of your new piece of gear, think in terms of preserving it in its mint condition until certain you are keeping it.

For instance, if it were rack gear, we would recommend avoiding racking it until you were certain it was a "keeper". Thus preventing any possible "rack rash" or scratches.

If it were a guitar pedal, avoid sticking Velcro on it and mounting to your pedal board until it passed your test to be knighted and sit at your round table of pedals. Although tempting to have both of your favorite things together, put down the chicken wings slathered in barbecue sauce that is dripping all over your leather vest and beard and be sure your hands are clean and dry before trying out your awesome new gear. Pet odors, cigarette and other smoke items can also affect the "newness" of your gear. Also, keep the gear away from your friend with the Billy Ray Cyrus mullet driving the Camaro. He's a good guy and he means well, but years of smoke tar and beer bongs have dulled his perceptions.

Incorrect voltage, self-repair, exposure to extreme temperatures, moisture damage, or incorrect application, etc. Earphones, microphones or other items that have intimate mouth, face or body contact. Software, computer hardware, computer drives and other digital or media tape.

Items that are special orders, discontinued, or closeouts, are all non-returnable. HOW TO RETURN YOUR ITEM. The item "1972 Ampeg SVT Bass Tube Amplifier Head with Matching 8x10 Speaker Cabinet #38206" is in sale since Saturday, November 30, 2019.
