Up for sale is a terrific modelling amp by Peavey... It is a solid state / digital amp, not a tube amp. But its transtube technology from Peavey really gives it a nice warm sound, as well as a good reaction to your picking touch and your guitar's volume knob. Much like a tube amp, but without the maintenance hassles of having those valves! Very reminiscent of another transtube legend by Peavey.... This amp's clean channel makes a very good platform for your effects pedals. Not bad considering many digital modelling amps have a hard time playing with outboard pedals. Line 6 spider s and the like!

You've got a responsive parametric eq stack of low, mid, and high that you can tweak if you want to color your sound some more. Or you can keep the amp's knobs neutral and let the sound of your guitar and pedals shine!

Or maintain your original guitar signal's integrity and go straight into the amp as this one has TONS of very useable and musical effects like delay, reverb, modulation etc. Now, I've found that many solid state amps have a hard time nailing that classic rock, low gain distortion sound. I really think you need a tube amp to nail that kind of sound. Having a quality overdrive handy in your toolbox also takes care of that need... Because then all you need is a good clean channel that takes pedals well. I believe this Transformer does an admirable job in trying to emulate the vintage crunch sound, you've got a few of them to choose from! But its strong suit is in its high gain settings...... I notice Peavey caters often to metal heads, and I believe this amp does not disappoint in that department.

With such high quality high gain sounds, you've got your solo/lead sounds all set with this unit..... With no need for an extra overdrive pedal to slam the front end and make your distortion tighter if you don't feel you need it!
