1967 Fender Super Reverb Blackface Vintage Tube Amp 4x10 CTS Alnico Speakers

  
Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Super Reverb in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch. The amp features its original quad of alnico 10 CTS speakers, pushing 40 watts of pure Fender Blackface clean tone via a pair of vintage Phillips 6L6GC power tubes. Perfect for gigging situations and an ideal recording amplifier, the amp provides pristine, muscly Fender cleans until you hit the 4-5 range on the volume dial, where a bit of tube and speaker breakup sends the amp into smooth overdrive. The Reverb is lush and deep, and the Tremolo has a nice pulse, with everything from swampy and slow to machine gun fast pulses. The preamp is untouched save for a new bias cap to properly regulate the power tubes, retaining all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps central to the smooth, musical character of Fender's Blackface amps.

All of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from'66. The transformers include the original output transformer, choke, and reverb transformer, all with'67 date codes and manufactured by Schumacher, Fender's primary transformer supplier in the Blackface era. The power transformer is also a vintage Fender component made by Schumacher, substituted early in the amp's life and dating to 1973. The power cable has been upgraded to a modern three-prong for safety's sake, and the power supply has been professionally recapped. The amp features a vintage pair of matched Phillips 6L6GC power tubes, along with a Groove Tubes 5U4 rectifier and a compliment of all vintage valves in the preamp.

The chassis itself is very clean, as is the original faceplate and stock witch hat knobs. The original quartet of CTS alnico speakers are intact with very clean frames and original blue foil Fender stickers on the magnets. The original speaker harness is present, as is the tube chart which has a QG date stamp, translating to July of 1967.

The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are stunningly clean, and all of the original hardware is equally pristine with original nickel corners, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, chrome pat. Pending tilt-back legs, and raised "Fender" logo. This cosmetically gleaming vintage Super Reverb boasts a bevy of vintage tubes, serviced only as needed to ensure optimal performance. The original two-button footswitch is included.
